Players take on virtual Augusta at Anytime Golf to kick off Rick Grant Landscaping 2026 season

There was something fitting about the way the SportsKlub Golf season began Friday night.
While the golf world had its eyes on Augusta, a group of local players stepped into their own version of it at Anytime Golf in Orillia, opening the Rick Grant Landscaping 2026 SportsKlub Golf Tour with the Peach Classic.
Playing nine holes on a virtual version of Augusta National Golf Club, the event blended the tradition of one of golf’s most iconic courses with a modern, indoor experience that quickly became part of the story.
By the end of the night, it was Mitch Hurtubise setting the early standard. Hurtubise carded a 40 to claim the first event of the season, putting together a steady round that separated him from the rest of the field.
Austin Patrick and Shawn McManus followed at 47, while Steve Hamilton finished with a 49. A group of Tucker McSwain, Tamara Evans, and Tyler Evans each posted rounds of 51, with Oswell James rounding out the scores at 52.
But like much of SportsKlub, the numbers only tell part of the story. The setting at Anytime Golf played a major role in the experience.
The 24/7 simulator facility, located at 425 West St. N., Unit 4, features three private bays and access to more than 1,200 virtual courses powered by GS Pro software. For the Peach Classic, that meant players were able to take on Augusta in a way that felt both realistic and accessible.
Shots were tracked in real time, swing data was available after each strike, and the environment created a space where players could compete while also learning more about their game.
For some, it was about chasing a low score. For others, it was about experiencing a course they may never play in real life. For everyone, it was a chance to be part of something different. That flexibility is exactly what the SportsKlub Golf Tour is built around.
The Peach Classic marked the first of several events to be scheduled throughout the season, each designed to offer a different format, setting, and experience. Next up is a return to outdoor play.
The 2026 Spring Challenge is set for May 29 at Lake St. George Golf Club, with a 5 p.m. start time. The nine-hole event will bring players back onto the course, offering a more traditional setting while keeping the same focus on accessibility and community.
