Bremner unwraps title with sparkling round

The Christmas decorations may have been packed away months ago, but the holiday spirit returned Thursday evening as the Rick Grant Landscaping Orillia golf tour made its annual stop in Washago for the SportsKlub Christmas in June Classic.

With sunny skies and another evening of friendly competition, six golfers teed it up looking to add another SportsKlub title to their resume.

When the final putt dropped, it was Jesse Bremner who claimed top honours with an outstanding round of 36, the only player to finish at even par on the evening. Bremner put together a steady, mistake-free performance from tee to green, holding off a competitive field to earn the Christmas in June Classic championship.

Tamara Evans continued her strong season on the tour, finishing just three shots back in second place with a 39. Curtis Storer rounded out the podium with a 42, while Andrew Billark carded a 44 and Connor and Hayden Woodbeck finished with a 53.

Like every SportsKlub golf event, the evening was about more than just the scores. Players spent the night enjoying another relaxed round together, sharing laughs between holes and embracing the social atmosphere that has become the hallmark of the Rick Grant Landscaping Orillia golf tour.

The tour now turns its attention to one of its marquee events of the season. The next stop is the SportsKlub Open at Lake St. George Golf Club on Sunday, Aug. 16, where golfers will compete for one of the most prestigious titles on the SportsKlub calendar.

With another championship on the line, players will look to build momentum heading into one of the biggest events of the year.
