Marinakos captures Summerween title at Settlers' Ghost

SportsKlub golfers battle spooky pins and summer heat in Rick Grant Landscaping Tour event
Christopher Marinakos carded the low round of the day to claim top spot at the SportsKlub Golf Summerween Tournament Sunday at Settlers' Ghost Golf Club.
The event, part of the Rick Grant Landscaping Orillia golf tour, brought five golfers together for a Halloween-themed summer showdown on the front nine of one of the region's most scenic courses.
Marinakos posted a 41 to earn the victory, finishing six strokes ahead of Matt Stefan and eight clear of the rest of the field.
Stefan put together a steady round of 43, highlighted by consistent play throughout the middle portion of his scorecard to secure second place. Jesse Bremner posted a solid 47.
A tie for fourth featured SportsKlub co-founder Mitchell Hurtubise and Tamara Evans, who each finished with rounds of 49. Hurtubise overcame a difficult stretch on the back half of his round and managed to stay within striking distance of the leaders, while Evans bounced back from an opening-hole seven to put together one of her strongest rounds of the season.
The opening hole proved challenging for much of the group, but Marinakos quickly settled into a rhythm and separated himself from the pack with steady scoring across the card. His round included four pars and only one hole worse than bogey, helping him cruise to the Summerween crown.
The tournament marked another successful stop on the Rick Grant Landscaping Golf Tour calendar as SportsKlub members traded footballs and baseball bats for golf clubs at Settlers' Ghost.
With summer now officially underway, attention turns to the next event on the SportsKlub Golf schedule, the Christmas in June Classic on Thursday, as players continue chasing tournament wins and bragging rights throughout the 2026 season.
