There have been many great players in SportsKlub football history.
But when Josh McCreith was at his best, there was no one like him.

That was the message delivered by Tyler Evans as he inducted Josh McCreith into the SportsKlub Hall of Fame, honouring not just one of the most dominant athletes the league has ever seen, but one of its most important.
Evans told the room that with all due respect to every great player who has come through SportsKlub, no one matched McCreith’s peak dominance. For those who never had the chance to see him play, Evans offered the closest comparison he could find.
Imagine the size and athleticism of Calvin Johnson Jr. combined with the power and relentlessness of Marshawn Lynch. Even in a non-contact version of football, McCreith made defenders feel bullied. His rare mix of elite size, speed, and athleticism made him a nightmare matchup and a dream for his quarterbacks.
The numbers tell part of the story. McCreith remains the all-time leader in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in SportsKlub history. He led the Augies to 11 Power Bowl championships and was crowned Power Bowl MVP four times. Individually, he captured seven SportsKlub Football MVP awards, setting a standard of dominance that still defines the league.
But the Hall of Fame moment went deeper than statistics, his long-time quarterback, Evans, spoke about their friendship, one forged through years of competition, honesty, and accountability. McCreith, he said, always had a way of keeping him humble, even when it tested their relationship. Yet when life brought real challenges, McCreith was always there.
Evans shared how, after the passing of Augie, McCreith was one of the first people to show up, offering support and revealing the quiet sensitivity behind his on-field intensity. He also recalled a moment when he was overwhelmed at Durham College, an hour and a half from home, and a single phone call was enough for McCreith to come get him and bring him back. Those moments, Evans said, define what makes Josh a truly great teammate.
McCreith says he could not say enough about how grateful he is for the honour and for the memories made along the way. It was a fitting close to the 2025 Hall of Fame inductions, built on both excellence and gratitude.
McCreith’s legacy in SportsKlub football is written in record books and championships. But his place in the Hall of Fame is secured just as much by the loyalty, friendship, and moments that mattered off the field.
