The Ramara Flag Football League, in partnership with SportsKlub, will begin on May 12.

A new partnership between SportsKlub and the Township of Ramara aims to bring more opportunities for local youth to get active this spring through the launch of the revamped Ramara Flag Football League.

The initiative will see SportsKlub work with the township to deliver a community-based youth flag football program designed to introduce kids to the sport in a fun, welcoming and accessible environment.

The Ramara Flag Football League is open to players aged 8 to 14 and will run every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ramara Centre fields, beginning May 12 and continuing through June 16, 2026.

The six-week program will feature weekly co-ed games, allowing participants of all skill and experience levels to take part in a recreational format focused on teamwork, learning the fundamentals of football and enjoying time outdoors with friends.

Players registered in the league will receive a pro-style team jersey and will be provided with a flag football belt and flags for each game. Participants are welcome to bring their own gloves or molded cleats, but they are not required.

Throughout the season, organizers will also capture photos and highlights, giving players a chance to see their accomplishments and share memorable moments from the league.

The season will wrap up with an end-of-season pizza party for all players thanks to Tops in Pizza on Memorial Avenue in Orillia.

The league has room for 98 players, with spots available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration costs $60 per player.

Parents interested in signing up their child can register here.

Questions about the league can be directed to aharper@ramara.ca.
