Season 40 finale: Three teams, one playoff spot
The Scouts, Huskers and defending champion Trojans enter Week 10 tied for final playoff spot, while Bombers, Augies and Blues battle for positioning

After nine weeks of SportsKlub Orillia Flag Football, three teams are tied for the final playoff spot.
The Season 40 regular season comes to an end Sunday night at the West Orillia Sports Complex, and while three teams already know they will be playing playoff football, almost nothing about the final bracket is settled.
The CMF Automotive Silver Bombers sit atop the standings at 9-2 with 18 points, followed by the 8-3 Hotshots Sandblasting Augies with 16 and the 7-4 Rick Grant Landscaping Blues with 14.
All three have officially clinched playoff berths.
The expansion Speaking of Wildlife Scouts, Wagner Lawn Care Huskers and defending Power Bowl champion Mariposa Building Services Trojans all enter the final night at 5-6 with 10 points.
Only one can advance.
The top four teams will qualify for the Season 40 playoffs on Monday, Nov. 9th. The No. 1 seed will meet No. 4 and No. 2 faces No. 3 for the right to play in Power Bowl 40 on Monday, November 9th.
All three teams chasing that final ticket will be on the field this Sunday.
Three teams, one spot
For an expansion team that opened Season 40 by stunning the Blues and quickly establishing itself as anything but an easy matchup, Sunday represents an opportunity for The Speaking of Wildlife Scouts to turn its inaugural season into a playoff appearance.
The Scouts face the McLean & Dickey Insurance Thunderbolts at 8 p.m. A victory combined with losses by both the Huskers and the Trojans would give the Scouts the fourth and final playoff berth outright... But a loss opens the door.
The Huskers are also 5-6 and face one of the hottest teams of Season 40, the Augies, at 8 p.m.
The Huskers clinch the final spot outright with a victory combined with losses by both the Scouts and Trojans.
The Huskers have already proven capable of rising to the occasion this fall. They enter the final week after capturing the Daryl Carstens Pumpkin Bowl and have received huge seasons from players including All-Star Game captain Josh Ayers.
Then there are the defending champions. The Mariposa Building Services Trojans opened Season 40 with three consecutive losses before beginning to turn its season around. Now sitting at 5-6, the Trojans have fought their way back into the playoff race and still have a chance to defend their Power Bowl championship.
It won't come easily. Fresh off a 42-35 victory over the Silver Bombers last Saturday, the Trojans will have to pull off that same upset again, facing the Bombers at 7 p.m.
A victory combined with losses by both the Scouts and Huskers would send the Trojans into the playoffs outright.
If two or all three of the Scouts, Huskers and Trojans finish Sunday tied in Klub points, SportsKlub's tiebreaking system will determine who advances.
The first tiebreaker is point differential, followed by total wins and then head-to-head results if the teams remain tied.
The Scouts enter the finale with a plus 32 point differential, giving them a significant advantage over the Huskers at minus 6 and Trojans at minus 76.
With all three teams currently sitting at five wins, point differential could ultimately decide who earns the fourth and final playoff spot. That means every touchdown scored and every point prevented could matter right to the final drive.
Silver Bombers control the race for No. 1
The fourth seed isn't the only thing still up for grabs. The CMF Automotive Silver Bombers enter Sunday at 9-2 and control the race for the No. 1 seed.
A victory over the Trojans would finish an impressive regular season at 10-2 and guarantee the Silver Bombers the top seed heading into the playoffs. The Bombers would also secure first place if the Augies lose to the Huskers.
The Silver Bombers have backed up their record with the best point differential in SportsKlub at plus 146, scoring 346 points while allowing 200. They hold a 45 point advantage over the Augies.
Their offence has also produced some of Season 40's biggest individual numbers.
Jesse Bremner leads the Klub with 1,837 passing yards and 22 touchdown passes, while reigning SportsKlub Football MVP Ethan Phillips has piled up 875 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.
Augies have outside shot at the top
Few teams have experienced a bigger transformation this season than the Hotshots Sandblasting Augies.
After beginning Season 40 at 0-2, the Augies caught fire and enter the final night at 8-3, just two points behind the Silver Bombers.
A win over the Huskers at 8 p.m. and a Silver Bombers loss would see both teams finish with 18 points. However, the Augies would have to outscore the Silver Bombers by a whopping 45 points to overtake the first seed.
The Augies have scored 307 points while allowing 206, giving them a plus-101 point differential through 11 games.
Braeden Price has been at the centre of their season, producing 1,006 passing yards, 686 receiving yards and 275 rushing yards while accounting for 12 total touchdowns.
The Augies also enter Sunday already owning some hardware after defeating the Silver Bombers to capture the Golden Bird at the Turkey Bowl.
While highly unlikely, the Augies still have an outside chance to finish their regular-season at the very top of the standings.
Blues locked in at No. 3
The Rick Grant Landscaping Blues have also secured its place in the final four.
At 7-4 with 14 points, the Blues enter Sunday in third place and face the 2-9 Synergy Healthcare Monsters at 7 p.m.
A Blues victory would move them to 16 points. If that is combined with an Augies loss, the two teams would finish tied. However, the Blues hold a plus 36 point differential, trailing the Augies by a daunting 65 points.
It's mathematically impossible for the Blues to enter the playoffs as anything but the third seed.
After going undefeated during the Spring 2026 regular season, the Blues have experienced far more adversity in Season 40. But they remain exactly where they wanted to be when the season began... with an opportunity to get back to the Power Bowl.
