Scouts stun Blues in wild Orillia flag Football Week 2
Expansion Scouts score 47 in historic victory as Laugalys, Bremner, Calvillo, and Westelaken deliver standout performances
The Fall SportsKlub Orillia flag football season took two weeks to become totally unpredictable.
Week 2 at the West Orillia Sports Complex on Sunday evening featured an expansion team making history, another moving to 2-0, the continued emergence of an exciting Huskers offence and a Silver Bombers captain putting together one of the best individual performances of the young season.
There were big plays everywhere. But nothing Sunday night was bigger than what happened between the Speaking of Wildlife Scouts and Rick Grant Landscaping Blues.
The Scouts entered their second game in franchise history looking for their first victory. They left with one nobody will soon forget.
Scouts make history, end Blues' remarkable run
The final score was Speaking of Wildlife 47, Rick Grant Landscaping 0.
And with it came the end of one of the most impressive runs in SportsKlub Football history.
The Blues hadn't lost a regular-season game since Oct. 26, 2025, carrying a 16-game regular-season winning streak into Sunday night.
It was a run that included a perfect Spring 2026 regular season and helped establish the Blues as one of SportsKlub's most consistent teams.
The expansion Scouts were the ones to finally end it. And they did it with contributions from all over the roster. Rookie Harrison Laugalys continued an impressive introduction to SportsKlub Football, throwing for 155 yards and two touchdowns while adding a game-high 91 rushing yards.
Paul Laforet was nearly perfect through the air, completing three of five attempts for 90 yards and three touchdowns while also recording an interception on defence.
Former Power Bowl MVP Jacob Hammill showed why his return to SportsKlub was such a significant addition. Hammill produced 150 yards from scrimmage, including 95 receiving yards and a touchdown and another 55 yards and a score on the ground. He also intercepted a pass.
Lucas Scriver continued his strong start with two receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns, including a five-yard touchdown pass of his own. JJ Healy and James Krawecki also found the end zone, while Alicia Smith recorded her first SportsKlub touchdown. Captain Matt Bolduc added an interception as part of a defensive effort that helped the Scouts secure the first victory in franchise history.
Tthe Scouts now have a significant franchise milestone to remember. Their first win came against a team that hadn't lost a regular-season game in more than 10 months.
Monsters move to 2-0 after topping defending champions
The Scouts weren't the only expansion team celebrating Sunday.
Synergy Health Care improved to 2-0 with a 20-13 victory over the defending Power Bowl champion Mariposa Building Services Trojans.
Captain Andrew Westelaken led the way with a terrific two-way offensive performance.
Westelaken completed four of seven passes for 85 yards and a touchdown while becoming his team's leading receiver with 125 yards and another touchdown on four catches.
Jon Vodarek threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, continuing to make an immediate impact in his first SportsKlub season.
Ethan Barber caught a touchdown and recorded an interception, while Lucas Ginger added another receiving score.
The Trojans had several big performances of their own.
Oswell James accumulated 170 yards from scrimmage, catching three passes for 135 yards and a touchdown while adding 35 rushing yards. Sam Skalosky threw for a game-high 165 yards and a touchdown and contributed another 55 yards on the ground.
Rookie Evan Carter provided one of Mariposa's biggest plays of the night, turning his lone reception into a 65-yard touchdown.
The Monsters now leave the first two weeks of their existence with two victories, including a one-point Week 1 win and a Week 2 victory over the defending champions.
It's been quite an introduction.
Calvillo erupts as Huskers improve to 2-0
If anyone was wondering how Marcopolo Calvillo's football background would translate to SportsKlub, two weeks have provided a pretty convincing answer.
The rookie exploded for 175 receiving yards and two touchdowns on six catches as the Wagner Lawn Care Huskers defeated the McLean & Dickey Thunderbolts 40-29.
And he was far from alone.
Josh Ayers turned in one of Week 2's most versatile performances, throwing for 120 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for another 55 yards and catching two passes for 50 yards and a touchdown. That's 225 total offensive yards and four touchdowns accounted for.
Calvin Hale had his fingerprints all over the scoreboard, too. Hale completed four of five passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns and caught three passes for 50 yards and two more scores.
Lucas Di Mattia completed four of five passes for 75 yards and a touchdown and recorded an interception defensively. Dominick Hill also found the end zone for the second consecutive week.
The Thunderbolts produced plenty of offence themselves in the highest-scoring game of the night. Kayden Halloch threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns without an interception, while Mitchell Hurtubise added 130 passing yards, two touchdowns and 50 yards rushing.
Percy Thomas caught three passes for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Dimitri Manouris accumulated 90 yards between rushing and receiving and scored a touchdown, while Bryanna Benson led McLean & Dickey with 65 receiving yards. Jackson Denne added his second touchdown in as many SportsKlub games, while Seamus McGee recorded an interception.
Two weeks into the season, the Huskers are 2-0 and their newcomers are making an immediate difference.
Bremner leads Silver Bombers to second straight win
Jesse Bremner entered the fall as one of SportsKlub Football's established quarterbacks.
Through two weeks, he's doing nothing to change that reputation.
Bremner completed 15 of 18 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns as the CMF Automotive Silver Bombers defeated the Hotshots Sandblasting Augies 27-14.
And apparently throwing touchdowns wasn't enough. Bremner also caught a 30-yard touchdown and forced a fumble defensively, giving the Silver Bombers captain four touchdowns accounted for on the night.
The offence was spread around him. Rookie Luke Phillips caught five passes for 80 yards and a touchdown. Walker Armatage and Ethan Westbrooke each recorded 60 receiving yards and a score, while Rishan Harlos contributed a 50-yard reception.
Westbrooke was just as impactful defensively, intercepting two passes and breaking up two more.
The Augies had several memorable individual moments of their own. Scott Oliver led the team with 85 receiving yards and a touchdown on three catches. Braeden Price threw for 85 yards and a touchdown and added another score on the ground.
And the Augies defence produced some highlights, too. Braeden Errico recorded an interception and two pass breakups, while Raygen Hendley had a sack and forced a fumble.
Week 2 belongs to the playmakers
Week 1 belonged to the Woodbeck brothers and Andrew Billark. Week 2 provided a much longer list of candidates for the spotlight.
Harrison Laugalys produced 246 yards between passing and rushing while helping the Scouts earn their first victory. Jacob Hammill recorded 150 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns and an interception. Paul Laforet threw three touchdowns and added an interception. Andrew Westelaken had 210 combined passing and receiving yards and two touchdowns as the Monsters improved to 2-0.
Marcopolo Calvillo led all Week 2 receivers with 175 yards and two touchdowns.
Josh Ayers accounted for 225 offensive yards and four touchdowns.
Calvin Hale accounted for four touchdowns while contributing as both a quarterback and receiver.
And Jesse Bremner led all Week 2 passers with 250 yards while accounting for four touchdowns of his own. Two weeks into a 12-game regular season, the list of players making their mark is already getting crowded.
TWO WEEKS DOWN, 10 MORE TO GO
Week 2 was a pretty good reminder of why nobody should get too comfortable with the standings in August.
One week after losing the first game in franchise history, the Scouts defeated a Blues team that had won 16 consecutive regular-season games.
The two expansion teams are already making memories. Rookies are becoming weekly contributors. Veterans are adding new chapters to careers that already span years of SportsKlub history.
And every game on the schedule brings another opportunity for someone to do something they haven't done before.
The wins, statistics and race toward Power Bowl 40 give the season its story. They give players something to chase and teammates something to celebrate together.
But the best part remains everything happening around those numbers.
It's showing up once a week. Seeing familiar faces. Meeting new ones. Getting outside, throwing a football around and having something fun to look forward to.
There are 10 regular-season games still ahead for every team, two in-season Bowl events still to come and a long way to go before anyone earns the right to play for Power Bowl 40.
For now, more than 80 players have another Sunday night together in the books.
And after two weeks, SportsKlub Orillia Flag Football is already giving them plenty to remember.
