Rosters revealed as Orillia flag football expands to eight teams

Two expansion clubs headline the largest season in SportsKlub Football history

Mclean and Dickey Spring Season standout rookie, Ethan Barber, is moving to the Monsters.

Seamus McGee ranks 19th all-time in receiving yards.

Matt Bolduc will captain an expansion team during the Fall 2026 Season.

The road to Power Bowl 40 officially has its eight contenders.

SportsKlub has unveiled the complete team rosters for its landmark 40th season of Orillia flag football, featuring returning champions, rebuilt franchises, familiar faces in new colours and two expansion teams preparing for their inaugural campaigns.

The Orillia flag football season begins Sunday, Aug. 23, at the West Orillia Sports Complex.

Following a spring season filled with dramatic finishes and one of the most memorable Power Bowls in league history, the fall campaign will feature the Mariposa Building Services Trojans, Synergy Healthcare Monsters, Rick Grant Landscaping Blues, CMF Automotive Silver Bombers, Wagner Lawn Care Huskers, McLean & Dickey Insurance Thunderbolts, Speaking of Wildlife Scouts and Cordery Electrical Augies.

Champions keep their core together

The defending Power Bowl champion Trojans return with much of the group that ended the Blues’ perfect season in the Power Bowl 39 overtime classic.

Captain Oswell James is back for his fifth season and will once again lead a veteran core featuring Martin Cunningham, Sam Skalosky and Adam Vastopa.

Power Bowl MVP Tyler Hinds also returns after producing the defining performance of the spring championship game. Hinds battled a hamstring injury through much of the regular season before returning to full strength for the playoffs and catching the overtime touchdown that secured the Orillia flag football crown.

The defending champions will not simply be running it back, however. Half of the roster consists of rookies, with Annette Bigit, Evan Carter, Luke Carter, George Heath and Jordan Rooley preparing for their first SportsKlub Orillia flag football seasons.

That combination gives the Trojans championship experience at the top of the lineup and plenty of new personalities looking to make an immediate impact.

Blues bring back familiar foundation

The Rick Grant Landscaping Blues will again be led by captain Matt Planta, who enters his 15th season with the franchise.

The Blues return nearly their entire established core, including Andrew Billark, Canyon Cairns, Rick Grant, Amber Weiss, Connor Woodbeck, Hayden Woodbeck and Vince Pitines.

That continuity should make them one of the Klub’s early favourites.

The Blues were nearly untouchable throughout the spring, completing a perfect regular season before falling to the Trojans in overtime at Power Bowl 39.

Pitines returns as one of the league’s most explosive players, while the Woodbeck brothers, Grant, Planta and Billark give the offence several proven options.

Brandon Watson joins the group for his first season as the Blues attempt to turn last season’s heartbreak into another championship run.

Phillips returns to lead Silver Bombers

Spring 2026 MVP Ethan Phillips is back with the CMF Automotive Silver Bombers.

Phillips produced one of the most dominant receiving seasons in recent league history and returns alongside captain Jesse Bremner, Colton Thompson, Walker Armatage, Ty Armatage and Austin Robinson.

He will also play alongside Luke Phillips, who enters his first season as an early Rookie of the Year candidate.

Marisa Bremner, Rishan Harlos and Matthew Stinson round out a roster that blends returning contributors with newcomers. After reaching the spring semifinals, the Silver Bombers enter Season 40 with enough offensive firepower to challenge anyone.

Huskers and Thunderbolts divided

One of the biggest offseason developments involved splitting the spring Huskers and Thunderbolts cores across the landscape.

The Wagner Lawn Care Huskers remain under the leadership of Lucas Di Mattia, who begins his 15th season. Ben Prinzen, Calvin Hale, and Andres Schnyder return, while the roster adds several first-year players, including Marcopolo Calvillo, Doug Flockton, Dominick Hill, Edwin Mitchell and Madison Prinzen.

Breakout star Josh Ayers gives the Huskers a proven downfield threat after emerging as one of the spring season’s most explosive players.

Across the Klub, the McLean & Dickey Insurance Thunderbolts will be captained by seven-time Power Bowl champion Mitchell Hurtubise.

Bryanna Benson returns after earning breakout-star recognition, while , Kayden Halloch, Shawn Harrison, Rachel Holmes, Dimitri Manouris, Colby Shaw and Percy Thomas bring experience from the spring roster.

The biggest name returning to the Thunderbolts may be Seamus McGee.

McGee returns for his 10th SportsKlub season and will wear Thunderbolts colours for the first time, adding another veteran presence and superstar receiver to a franchise with one of the richest histories in the league.

Making his football debut will be Devin Coombs, a current MVP candidate in the SportsKlub Baseball world.

Expansion teams ready for debut

Season 40 will introduce two new teams, each led by an experienced captain.

Andrew Westelaken will captain the Synergy Healthcare Monsters in their inaugural season.

Westelaken enters his second campaign and will lead a roster that includes Ethan Barber, Noah Barber, Steve Barber, Jason Connell, Dana Crichton, Stephanie Ginger, Lucas Ginger, Emily Mercer and Bailey Yeoman.

Barber returns after earning Spring 2026 All-Star honours with the Thunderbolts and gives the expansion club a proven receiving threat from Day 1.

The Speaking of Wildlife Scouts will be led by Power Bowl 39 champion Mathieu Bolduc.

Bolduc caught two touchdowns during the championship game and now takes on his first captaincy assignment. His roster includes Rachel DeLong, Samantha Goodnough, JJ Healy, James Krawecki, Paul Laforet, Harrison Laugalys, Lucas Scriver and Alicia Smith.

Former Power Bowl MVP Jacob Hammill also returns to SportsKlub Football as a Scout. Hammill previously starred most notably with the Trojans, Silver Bombers, and Huskers and gives the expansion team an experienced playmaker capable of immediately changing a game.

Price back full-time with the Augies

Braeden Price is officially back as a full-time player.

After balancing media and league responsibilities while making occasional appearances during the Spring season, Price returns for his 18th campaign as a member of the Cordery Electrical Augies.

The team will be captained by two-time Power Bowl MVP, Tamara Evans, who enters her fifth season and leads a group featuring Mike Black, Braeden Errico, Steve Hamilton, Zach Moreau, Scott Oliver, Daniel Scavuzzo and Brynnen Shelswell Gilbert.

Raygen Hendley returns after earning Spring 2026 All-Star recognition and provides the Augies with another proven two-way contributor.

The franchise carries plenty of history into the fall, with its lineage accounting for 15 Power Bowl championships.

Season 40 arrives Aug. 23

The eight-team field is the largest assembled for a SportsKlub Football season and continues the organization’s growth from a weekly recreational game into a full community sports experience.

There will be returning stars, players making long-awaited comebacks and dozens of rookies preparing to step onto the field for the first time.

But the purpose remains the same. SportsKlub is a social club first — the weekly hangout that happens to play sports — where the rivalries last for an hour and the friendships continue after the final snap.
