Young stars continued to shine at the Ramara Centre as Week 2 delivered high-scoring flag football games, breakout performances, and dramatic finishes

The second week of the Ramara Flag Football League season brought more offence, dramatic finishes, and breakout performances Tuesday night at the Ramara Centre, as young athletes continued building momentum in SportsKlub’s newest football initiative.
Cordery Electrical Contracting edged Orillia Synergy Healthcare 16-14 in the closest game of the evening.
Nash Butler delivered a standout all-around performance for Cordery, recording both a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the victory. Synergy answered with rushing touchdowns from Declan Ware and Austin Leblanc, keeping the game within reach until the final whistle.
In the end, the extra-point conversions proved to be the difference, as Cordery narrowly escaped with the two-point victory in a tightly contested battle.

Peggy’s Chip Truck earned a 26-14 win over Brechin BMR Pro behind a big night from Colton Clay and Trenton Fraser.
Myles Reid turned in a strong effort for BMR Pro with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, but Peggy’s offence proved too difficult to contain. Clay threw two touchdown passes to Fraser, helping Peggy’s Chip Truck build separation and maintain control throughout the matchup.

At the same time, the Brechin Lions Club defeated Tops in Pizza 21-7.
Quarterback Gibb Ferry commanded the Lions Club offense with two passing touchdowns, helping his team improve after an impressive all-around showing. Tops in Pizza found success on the ground through Luke Henderson, who scored the team’s lone touchdown of the night on a rushing play.

Brechin Legion improved to 2-0 with a 30-15 victory over Perfect Landing Bar and Grill in one of the night’s highest-scoring matchups.
Max Laird led the way for the Legion squad, finishing with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown as the branch controlled the pace offensively.
Elaina Barton continued her strong start to the season as well, adding another rushing touchdown to her growing stat line through two weeks of play. Her Perfect Landing squad battled throughout the contest, but the Legion's ability to capitalize in key moments allowed them to pull away late and secure the 15-point win.
