Ramara Flag Football offences explode in Week 3

Peggy’s Chip Truck drops 46 points, Tops in Pizza lights up scoreboard, while Brechin Legion and Synergy Healthcare earn statement wins

Peggy’s Chip Truck continued to look like the hottest offence in Ramara Flag Football Tuesday night, while Brechin Legion, Tops in Pizza and Synergy Healthcare also picked up statement wins during Week 3 action at the Ramara Centre.


Offensive stars across the league are starting to separate themselves in the stats race, and several players delivered breakout performances in another high-scoring evening of youth football.


Peggy’s Chip Truck stole the spotlight with a 46-22 victory over Brechin Lions Club in the highest-scoring game of the night.

Ben Gasc continued his strong season for the Lions Club, hauling in two receiving touchdowns, but Peggy’s Chip Truck simply had too much firepower.


Rylan Mitchell turned in one of the most dominant performances of the young season, carving up the Lions Club defence with a monster all-around effort. Mitchell now sits tied for the league lead with four passing touchdowns while also adding production on the ground and through the air.


Peggy’s Chip Truck improved to 3-0 and continues to establish itself as one of the league’s most dangerous offensive teams entering Week 4.

Tops in Pizza also broke out offensively in a 39-12 win over BMR Pro.


Irelynn Watson found the end zone twice for BMR Pro and continued to emerge as one of the team’s most reliable playmakers, but Luke Henderson proved nearly impossible to contain.


Henderson repeatedly got behind defenders and hauled in deep passes from quarterback Ryan Salwonchuk, who delivered several big throws throughout the evening.


Tops in Pizza improved to 1-2 with the win, while BMR Pro dropped to 0-3 despite another competitive offensive showing.

Over on Field 2, Synergy Healthcare picked up its first win of the season in a thrilling 32-26 victory over Perfect Landing Bar & Grill.


Greyson Delahunt scored his first touchdown of the season for Perfect Landing and helped keep the game close throughout the evening, but Synergy finally broke through late.


Eisley Connell helped lead the charge for Synergy Healthcare as the team survived a late push from Perfect Landing to secure the victory.

The win moved Synergy Healthcare to 1-2 on the season, while Perfect Landing fell to 0-3.

The Brechin Legion remained among the league’s top teams with a commanding 26-0 shutout victory over Cordery Electrical Contracting.


Despite several impressive throws from Grayden Kostur, Cordery’s offence struggled to finish drives against a disciplined Legion defence. Nathan Flint once again led the way offensively for Brechin Legion, throwing three touchdown passes to continue his outstanding start to the season. Flint now sits tied for the league lead with four passing touchdowns.


Through three weeks, the league’s passing touchdown leaders include Flint, Rylan Mitchell, Leonardo Flores Malpica and Gibb Ferry, all with four touchdown passes.


The receiving touchdown race has also tightened dramatically. Drew McGuinness and Grayson Cooper currently sit atop the league leaderboard with five receiving touchdowns each, while Greyson McPeake and Ben Gasc are close behind with four.


On the ground, Austin LeBlanc and Max McGuinness lead the league with three rushing touchdowns apiece.


Week 4 action returns Tuesday, June 2 at the Ramara Centre. Cordery Electrical Contracting will face Perfect Landing Bar & Grill at 5 p.m. on Field 1, while Brechin Legion takes on Synergy Healthcare at 5 p.m. on Field 2.


At 6 p.m., Tops in Pizza battles Peggy’s Chip Truck on Field 2 in what could become one of the highest-scoring matchups of the season, while BMR Pro squares off against Brechin Lions Club on Field 1.
