The championship finals are set.

The Ramara Flag Football League playoffs delivered plenty of excitement on Tuesday night, as four teams punched their tickets to next week's Jr. Power Bowl championship games.

In the opening contest, Cordery Electrical Contracting rolled to a 32-6 victory over Synergy Healthcare. While Waylon Farrell came up with several big plays  for Synergy and refused to let his team back down, the blazing speed of Cordery's Nash Butler proved to be the difference-maker. Butler repeatedly found open space and helped his squad pull away to secure a spot in the championship game. 

The second semifinal featured plenty of highlight-reel moments. Tops in Pizza got the crowd buzzing when Zoe Gowanlock made a spectacular interception that immediately earned a place on the season's highlight tape. Despite the momentum swing, the Brechin Lions Club squad responded behind a dominant second-half performance from Rachel Montgomery. Montgomery took over the game offensively and helped lead the Lions Club to a convincing 47-14 victory.

The closest game of the evening belonged to BMR Pro and Peggy's Chip Truck. Irelynn Watson and BMR Pro battled hard from start to finish and gave Peggy's everything they could handle. In the end, however, the connection between Amelia Voderek and Matthew Barber proved too difficult to contain. The duo hooked up for several key plays as Peggy's Chip Truck escaped with a 38-20 victory and advanced to the championship round.

The final Ramara flag football playoff match up nearly produced the feel-good story of the season.

Perfect Landing Bar & Grill entered the night searching for its first win and appeared poised to celebrate a breakthrough victory. Instead, the Brechin Mara Legion found another gear late in the game. Touchdown passes from Nathan Flint and Connor Fishpool swung the momentum and ultimately lifted Brechin Legion to the win, denying Perfect Landing its long-awaited first victory. 

With the semifinals complete, all eyes now turn to next week's Power Bowl finale on Tuesday, June 16th at the Ramara Centre. At 5 p.m., Cordery Electric aims to spoil the Brechin Mara Legion squad's perfect season, while Perfect Landing Bar & Grill takes on Synergy Healthcare. 

At 6 p.m., BMR Pro closes out its season against Tops in Pizza, while the Brechin Lions Club battles with Peggy's Chip Truck.  

The games will mark the final contests of the spring season before Ramara flag football takes a summer break. The good news for players and families is that the program isn't going anywhere.
