Baseball moving to Tudhope Park for 2026 season

Recreational co-ed league will play beside Lake Couchiching this summer

On a summer night in Orillia, the sun dips behind Lake Couchiching and paints the sky in streaks of pink and gold beyond the outfield fence. This year, that backdrop will become part of the game.

SportsKlub Baseball will officially be played at Tudhope Park for the 2026 season after organizers were forced to relocate from due to scheduling conflicts. The league had previously indicated games would take place at Kitchener, but the change ultimately landed the program at what many consider the city’s most scenic diamond, with the lake stretching directly beyond right field.

While the postcard-worthy evening sunsets will be a highlight for a few night games, most of the season will still unfold in the late-morning summer warmth, with weekly first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.

SportsKlub Baseball registration is now open, bringing back a fun-first co-ed recreational league designed for anyone who loves the game, misses the game, or simply wants a new way to stay active and meet people in the community.

The format is intentionally welcoming and hit-friendly. Games are played in a three-pitch system using an underhand lob-toss softball style. Teams pitch to their own players from behind a protective screen, keeping the focus on contact, movement, and participation rather than competition.

The season will feature 24 total games followed by a three-week playoff. Opening day is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, weather permitting, with the season expected to run through Sunday, Sept. 20.

More than anything, organizers say the league is built around community. The emphasis is on moments, laughs and shared memories rather than final scores, creating an environment where longtime players and first-timers can comfortably share the same field.

Registration costs $125 per player, with a deadline of Friday, March 27. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
