SportsKlub bats erupt in Sunday slugfest

Plenty of hits, runs and standout performances highlight another Sunday of Orillia slopitch at Tudhope Park

It was another busy Sunday of SportsKlub Baseball, with plenty of offence across both games and some great individual performances throughout the evening.

The Wagner Lawn Care Angels picked up a 16-11 win over the NKD Deer Muskies, while the CMF Automotive Mets finished the day with a 15-9 victory over the Studabakers Beachside Rockies.

Across the two games, the four teams combined for 86 hits and 51 runs, making for a fun afternoon at the diamond.

Angels 16, Muskies 11

There was no shortage of offence between Wagner Lawn Care and NKD Deer, with the two teams combining for 42 hits.

The Angels finished with 20 hits and had contributions throughout the lineup.

Jeff Carey had a big day with three hits and three runs scored, while Owen McCool added three hits and scored twice. Oswell James and David Pearson each finished with two hits and two runs.

Wyatt Predum provided one of the biggest offensive performances of the game, driving in four runs for the Angels. Dylan Petroff added three hits, while Devin Coombs and Kauner Lehtonen each drove in a run.

NKD Deer put together an impressive offensive afternoon of its own, finishing with 22 hits.

Iain Bass led the way with four hits and two RBIs, while Jared MacDonald collected three hits, scored twice and drove in two. Paul Laforet had three hits, two runs and three RBIs, and Tamara Evans added two hits and two runs.

Both teams kept the bats busy throughout the game, with Wagner Lawn Care ultimately coming away with the 16-11 win.

Mets 15, Rockies 9

The hits kept coming in the second game, as CMF Automotive and Studabakers Beachside combined for another 44.

The Mets put together a 24-hit performance on their way to a 15-9 win.

Rob McMinn finished with three hits, three runs and three RBIs, while Tim Hillson added three hits and scored three times. Blair Mangan also had three hits, three runs and an RBI, and Chris Burke contributed three hits and two runs.

Mark Young and Josh Goodings each drove in two runs, while Gary Liton and Steve Hamilton added two RBIs apiece.

The Rockies had plenty of success at the plate as well, finishing the game with 20 hits.

Mike Black led the way with three hits, two runs and three RBIs. Austin Dyck had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run, while Jessie Eyers, Jason Coldwell and Connor Woodbeck each added an RBI.

Despite the final score, both teams kept runners moving and gave everyone at the diamond plenty of action throughout the game.

Another Sunday in the Books

With another weekend complete, the SportsKlub Baseball season keeps rolling along.

The Angels added another win to their strong season, the Mets enjoyed a productive afternoon at the plate, and both the Muskies and Rockies had plenty of individual performances worth celebrating.

It was another great evening at the diamond, with plenty of good plays, big moments and fun throughout both games.

As the season moves into its final stretch, there are still plenty of games, big hits and good times left before we wrap things up.
