If the past few weeks are any indication, this league is a continuous rotation of the same contenders jockeying for position, the middle slog of teams grinding week to week, and a few squads still searching for identity. With Week 10 & 11 in the books and Week 12 underway, the playoff picture is sharpening.

There’s no other way to say it: Dave McLeod has built a juggernaut.

Sitting at 78-47-7 (.617), McLeod isn’t just leading the league. he’s dictating it by extending his lead to 4.5 games over 2nd place Mike McClymont. Week after week, he delivers decisive category wins, including an 8-3 victory over Percy Thomas last week. His roster doesn’t just win weeks, it overwhelms.

Midway Point Most Dominant Team: Dave McLeod

Dave weathered the storm of Percy Thomas in week 11. He consistently beats teams he's "supposed to beat" to keep pacing the league. Besides HR's and AVG., Dave sits in the top 4 of all offensive categories to this point of the season. He's also atop the league in QS, and top 3 in Wins and K's for pitchers showing the squad isn't a one trick pony. It can do pretty much everything, and do it well.

The Silent Threat: Mike McClymont Keeps Charging

Right behind him is Mike McClymont (71-49-12), who might be the most dangerous team no one wants to face.

McClymont dismantled 4th place Josh Goodings 8-3 in Week 11, continuing a stretch of high-level consistency. He doesn’t always dominate headlines, but he stacks wins and keeps pressure on the top spot.

Most Consistent Team: Mike McClymont

• Rarely has a bad week; regularly posts strong category wins (8-3, 6-4)

• Firmly entrenched near the top all season in the standings and was as high as 1st

• Sits above 50% of the league in almost all of the 12 weighted categories, the definition of reliable consistency.

Although Mike's team is not the flashiest of teams, it grinds and performs in the clutch moments. If McLeod slips even slightly, McClymont is first in line to capitalize.

The Contender Cluster

Behind the top two sits a competitive tier:

• Mitchell Hurtubise (72-52-8): Took down Luke Todd 6-4 last week and remains firmly in the hunt.

• Josh Goodings (72-54-6): Stumbled against McClymont but still dangerous.

• Jason Fishpool (69-52-11): Shocked by Tyler Evans in a 7-5 loss, momentum may be wavering.

At the bottom, things are getting grim.

• Struggled to string together wins and consistently set lineups

The middle tier is a battleground where playoff spots will be won and lost weekly and positioning may lead to unfavourable matchups when elimination season comes. The bottom teams are running out of runway. Some trades and key add/drops or miraculous personnel turnarounds have become necessity for survival. Although there is seemingly time before the August 6th trade deadline to make moves, it is not the easiest to gain large amounts of ground in a league as tight as this one.

As week 12 unfolds the important decisions are coming and it will spare no one; this league isn’t just competitive, it’s ruthless. Summer time and warmer temps are here, everyone can only hope that means hotter streaks too.

And the monsters at the top? They’re only getting hotter.
